WorldFolk Las Vegas GirlFestival Submit to Perform

Thank you for your interest in performing, or displaying your artwork or film at the Las Vegas GirlFestival 2009! The festival takes place October 17th – 26th, at various venues and sites in Las Vegas and the surrounding area, TBA.

Please note: The Las Vegas GirlFestival 2009 uses a selection process, not a sign up process. Please see instructions below.

We are now accepting submissions. If you or the performer(s) that you represent would like to be considered for the festival, we require the following information from you:

1. Send us a link to your website, MySpace page, etc., with a sample of your work, If you do not have a link for us to sample your music, you can mail us a CD or cassette and a press kit. Please contact us for mailing instructions at: info@lasvegasgirlfestival.com. Please do not consider a link to your website or printed material without a sample of your music as a submission.

2. Be sure to include the full name of the band, number of performer(s), and instrumentation, if it is not included on your site. We also need a name, email
address, and telephone number of the contact person for your band or performer(s).

3. We require a response from you or your band representative, that you agreeto the following:

I understand that the Las Vegas GirlFestival 2009 (LVGF 2009) and/or WorldFolk Foundation is not able to pay any participants including, but not limited to: musicians, poets, spoken word artists, dancers, comedians, artists and film makers. I will have the opportunity to sell my CD’s and/or other merchandise, depending on agreement from the venue. Although LVGF 2009 is planning on obtaining discounted travel and hotel rooms for the event, it is currently only in the planning stages. There is no guarantee of this, and availability may be limited. Bands and duos can be made up of female and male members, but the lead singer or performer must be female! The festival is open to all ages and genres! I understand that the LVGF 2009 has a selection process and that signing up alone, does not guarantee me or my band a spot.

The LVGF 2009 is being produced by the WorldFolk Foundation, a non-profit organization. At the current time, we are run completely by volunteers. We aim to keep administration costs to a minimum. Selections are normally completed by August 31st, 2009. If you have not heard from us by then, you can assume that we were not able to include you in the lineup this year.
